Napoleon Dynamite and Exercise

When it comes to exercise, let’s be honest here–Napoleon Dynamite had it right on.

And I don’t mean the dancing either, though of course that was wonderful (also when he threw a button down the hall to spite Donny, that was cool too). If we look at Mr. Dynamite’s whole life philosophy, we can see 3 things that really jump out:

😁“Heck Yeah”…if you love the way your exercise choices make you feel and perform, you’re going to want to keep going. Progress, pride, and happiness keep you on the right track. Look for the heck yeah’s.

🤹Develop skills. You don’t have to know how to draw ligers or be a ninja (although…), but building competence in things like getting up and down off the ground, moving weight overhead, and carrying or pushing loads can have profound effects on longevity and physical fitness.

👏Find your squad. Napoleon had Pedro, Deb, and arguably Kip on his team and that made all the difference. Finding some supportive friends, classmates, or a coach who will be by your side can be an integral part of your success, enjoyment, and keep the exercise train rolling.

It also wouldn’t hurt to learn how to throw a steak but we’ll leave that for another day.
