Short answer: you’ll be greeted by name, walked through what’s happening, met where you are, and treated like a person who’s going to be here for years, whether that ends up being true or not.
Here’s what actually happens.
You show up. You’ll have talked to me or one of my coaches on the phone beforehand, so we already know your name, we know a little about where you are with training and with your life, and we know why you decided this was worth trying.
You walk in the door. The person at the front will know your name. Not because we have a slick system, but because we told them you were coming. If it’s your first class or your first personal training session, we’ve talked about you a little already.
The coach for the session will introduce themselves and walk you through what today is. They will show you the warm-up, they will demo the lifts, they will scale the workout for what your body is ready for on day one. If you don’t know what a move is, they’ll show you. If you have a question, ask it.
You will not be asked to do anything that hurts. You will not be embarrassed. You will not be left to figure it out on your own.
Bring a water bottle. Wear something you can move in. Sneakers are fine. That’s it.
Around the end of your session, the coach or I will check in on how it felt. Not what your workout looked like. How it felt in your body, in your head, at the pace we ran it. That check-in matters more than the numbers you put up.
You might be a little sore the next day. That’s normal and it fades fast as your body adapts. If you’re very sore, tell us and we’ll dial the next session accordingly.
That’s the whole thing. The first session is not a test. It’s a conversation, in a room, with weights.
If you have a question about your specific situation, book a Clarity Call and we’ll answer it before you ever show up.
