Why does 1-on-1 training cost more than a class?

Why does 1-on-1 training cost more than a class?

At Woodshed, 1-on-1 training is $103 per hour. Group memberships start at $234 per month.

Simple math: 1-on-1 is more expensive per session than group. Why?

Here’s what you’re actually paying for.

In a group class, the coach’s attention is split across the whole room. Every member gets meaningful attention, but that attention is shared. The programming is smart and covers the room. For most adults, that’s exactly what they need.

In 1-on-1, one coach serves you. Every minute is yours. Programming is built entirely around your body, your goals, your schedule, your history, your current pain, your current strength. Everything is calibrated.

Who each format fits:

Group: Best for adults who want structured strength work with community and coaching oversight, and are fine with a program built for the room. Most Woodshed members are here. It works.

1-on-1: Best when you have specific limitations, need very personal coaching (injury history, complex goals), or want the fastest possible progress. Also the best entry point for adults who are nervous about walking into a group setting cold.

Which one is right for you?

Depends on your goals, your budget, your comfort level with groups, and your training history. A Clarity Call is where we sort that out.

In a small group, the ratio drops. Attention per member goes up. The coach can see more of your specific patterns. Programming can flex more toward individuals.
